Lt. Governor Burt Jones Expresses Support for Independent Council on Women’s Sports, Urges NCAA to Ban Biological Men in Women’s Sports
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
March 15, 2024
ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones issued a statement in support of the 16 female plaintiffs who filed suit against the NCAA for allowing biological males to compete against them and use female locker rooms in college sports. Alleging a violation of Title IX, the female athletes’ suit is aimed at both the NCAA and multiple Georgia universities.
“As the father of a daughter, the allegations made in the suit against multiple Georgia universities and the NCAA are deeply disturbing,” said Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones. “Biological men should not be permitted to compete in women’s sports, and they should not be allowed to use the same locker room as the female athletes. I commend these women for their courage, and I demand that the NCAA and these universities issue an apology and right their wrongs by prohibiting men from competing in women’s sports. If they cave to the Radical Left and refuse to act on this issue, we will.”
